PS: Sorry about going overboard with colours and ‘graphics’ (can you even call them that?) I think i’ll stick to typing. It’s quicker, less strain on my after-work arms and so much freaking easier!

Valentines Day is the same as every other day. People die, people are born. People cry, people laugh. People masturbate, people have sex. People kill others and people are killed by others. All the while there is war, torture, abuse, rape, hatred, and of course love.

But why is it that we focus on the latter? Is it because they’d rather choose to forget about how horrible life can and inevitably will be? Is it because the feeling of need is stronger than any other day of the year? Is it because this day is just a day where people feel more obliged to show affection due to the marketing of the day? Or is it just because we are told to be romantic on this day? My answer? All of the above, in result of the latter.

We’ve all been told in our Westernised global culture that February 14 is the day we show our love. But does anybody know why? Does anybody even call it St. Valentines anymore? These questions are what are wrong with this day.

The day is clouded in mystery, celebrating fictional traditions and a man whom nobody knows. Even the Catholic church don’t know why St. Valentine is a Saint.

So why do we choose to celebrate a day for all the wrong reasons? It might be the same as Christmas, Birthdays or Easter. Because we’ve all been told we need to celebrate the commercial value of said holidays. These days are all a marketer’s dream; days where splurging on unnecessary and unrelated items are at a high, because not celebrating is considered taboo, and where greed is the fuel which burns the desire for us wanting gifts, affection and belonging in a society which would rather celebrate just because they’ve been told to.

Which brings me to this; Valentine’s Day is what is wrong with society. We needn’t a day to show our love, but we choose today to show our love because everybody else is doing it. Today is a day about getting better than everybody else; A larger bear, more roses, and more extravagant chocolate.  You shouldn’t need one day a year to show your affection, flowers should be given everyday, chocolates every second, and a bear whenever you can’t be there to hug.

Just one last thing, why is there an entire day given for one emotion? If love gets a day, I believe all human emotions should get a day. A day for Hatred, a day for lust, a day for sorrow, a day for happiness, a day for fear, and a day for suspense. Sure some emotions already have their own days (Sorrow marks the day a year after a tragic event, fear a day in halloween, suspense for WWDC) but these days are all overtaken by, yup you guessed it, greed.

Dear Sir/Madam,

It has come to my attention that you are annoying me at this second. I’m trying to read my blogs whilst listening to music and posting of forums. I’m finding it increasingly hard to do so with the constant beeping of Microsoft Messenger for Mac. I have come to the conclusion that you are the single cause for this annoyance and I would like action to be undertaken immediately to resolve this problem.
I know you are having problems in life at this moment, but believe me there are bigger problems. Take Haiti for example, nobody can pronounce the country’s name! Don’t you think their problem is much worse than yours?
Although I do enjoy chatting, I have just finished work; and a full day of work followed by your self pity is something i can evidently live without. Take it from my perspective, you’ve just finished a 10 hour shift at work, you’ve had to clean up baby spew, deal with angry customers and had chicken blood spilt on your shoes. Combine the above ingredients with the added customers for no particular reason at all and you’ve got a bloody great day at work! Now, how would you like me to come to you while you’re enjoying your alone time after said day, when you only get so few entertainment hours between work and complain how bad my life is to you? I’m sure you’ve got bigger problems to worry about than ‘PWNing Newbs’ and such, but please back off and let me breath.
I’m sure you’ll understand, I mean you didn’t seem to get the idea when I only replied with 3 letter 1 word answers; but this letter aims to help you understand a little bit better.

If you’re wondering why this letter doesn’t make sense, it’s because i’m tired. So if you’ve got anything you’d like to ask, ensure you hesitate to ask.

Due to some stupid issues with the domain provider I was unable to renew my service, but now I’ve got it all sorted out and it’s awesome!

I really missed my email. But I also missed owning my own domain, it’s weird but you know having a domain is almost like having a kid. You pay for it, you name it and you embed BBcode into it and watch it grow! Lovely!

Whether we’ll be seeing a whole lot of activity is another question, I though I might be more active due to the fact that I no longer have school, so bitching about working will be at an all time high! Stories about my recent one month of nothing shall follow. Stay tuned!

The skin isn’t working the way i wanted it to. Therefore I’m going to have to work on it a little further.

I’m going to keep the blog up for time being, but realize there will be some issues with the current theme and i am working on fixing them. Don’t get too comfetable with the layout though, it’s gonna have to change when i get the chance to after school tomorrow.
