My friends with iPhones have all been bugging me to jailbreak – they’ve all done it and they’ve all had no problems; so i decided to try it myself.

To start, i had very little idea what i was doing, so i relied on several blogs with their instructions on how to do so. It was a whole lot more easier than i first expected and it wasn’t as scary as some people would make it out to be – although i squirmed everytime it would restart itself or became seemingly unresponsive. Then it was the installing of the applications which was (is) a little confusing, I’m still having a little trouble getting it all sorted but I think i’ve gotten my head around most of it (although, i must admit i’m still relying on blogs to help me).

Overall i only needed to install blackra1n on my Mac to do it, after that everything was surprisingly device-based. It was a reasonably quick and generally painless process (the pain coming from the fear of turning my baby into a braindead brick) although it is still a whole bit confusing.
