Due to my insomnia I’ve decided to take to my blog to release my thoughts to the entire interwebz and to free up my conscious mind on what epicly great movie I have just consumed..

Donnie Darko.. I’ve never seen this movie before, and now I look back at it, I think, what a shame..

In a vague attempt to get me to fall asleep before 4am I decided to try to get myself to sleep by watching a movie.. What a mistake!

Donnie Darko is the kind of movie that really keeps you involved, you just want to try and get your head around to try and understand the situation. And even at the very end you’re still left wondering: What if? Why? and How?

The movie was generally very good, the characters were well developed, the storyline was well thought of and thourough, and the depth of the psychological torment that you could feel from Donnie… Gah! You felt like you were him!

The only thing negative I’m left with is, as to why the director put so much depth into characters which were not needed. The story could have been done with fewer charcters which still had major placements within the movie when they could have been removed without having a whole great of a deal into the main story line.

Another minor thing is with the storyline, althought very thorough, it still contained a paradox and several loose leads. As to whether these were intentional or not is another story, as you only pick up on these at the end, when you thought they would make a difference to the ending.

Other than that I loved this movie, it may have been a little confusing but that’s what keeps you interested, and totally keeps replay value! The theme of the movie is very dark – so dark I’m now a little warry of walking outside with the lights off, as I’m afraid a giant freaking bunny will come out and tell me to burn down a pheadophiles house – the theme also works very well in favour of the movie.

If I seem as if I’m writing a tad pretentious – good! I’m tired, unable to sleep, sick and taken aback by this movie. So if my writing skills were to give off a slightly pretentious undertone then it means I’m writting exceptionally well for a person in my position!

May I add that my spelling may be slightly (totally) off, my apologies as I’m on my iPhone (prentious yet?) and I don’t have any real sort of spellcheck other than that of Apple’s suretype (is it Apple or RIM that has suretype?)

Well I think my mind is clear enough of this matter, I’m finding it somewhat hard to find a way to finish this blog which would keep this post ontopic.. Meh.. Who gives a shit?!
